New York is cool, London is chic, however, nowhere does classic glam like Paris Fashion Week. Though we couldn´t show them all, we wanted to select the most sophisticated and elegant dresses that we thought would make excellent wedding dresses.
This first design is by Alexis Mabille: an ethereal strapless dress made of fine lace and a mermaid cut that enhances every sensual curve of the female body. It is accompanied here by a sleeveless satin coat – the subtle opaque shine of the satin helps to tone down the full lace dress while also accenting it.
This second signature dress is from Elie Saab. Everything about this dress is bold and risky and we love it. From the voluminous, Tudor-like skirt, to the glitter in various shades and the pronounced v-neck, this dress isn´t for the traditional bride. Accompanied by a thin veil the dress looks even more like something out of a fairy tale.
There is no Paris Fashion Week without Chanel. And that´s because the iconic brand always delivers – this year is no different. The two-piece outfit features an ornate trailing skirt made up of a network of flowers in white and pink tones and a short sleeve top covered in glitter. Paired with silky fingers-less gloves and a large tulle headdress resembling a spectacular bird´s nest, this outfit screams femininity.
Jean Paul Gaultier returned to surprise us with this original design inspired by two totally different looks. One half is a tight sleeveless dress while the other half is a voluminous tulle skirt that reaches to the ankles. Both sides are paired with long, sheer tulle gloves. The look is very sophisticated.
This spectacular design by Lawrence Xu caused a sensation – and you can see why. The incredible detail of the embroidery, the heart neckline embedded with stones, the diaphanous tulle skirt and the veil attached by a head piece reminiscent of a Spanish tocado makes this the dress of a fairy tale princess. Can´t you just picture that beautiful skirt twirling round a ball room?
We continue with this dress designed by Ralph and Russo. Keeping the skirt simple, the design house allows the beauty of the fabric to flow like water around the woman´s body, enhancing the striking neckline that beautifully frames the bare shoulders – this dress would be perfectly paired with a statement necklace or some striking earrings.
Finally and to close this selection, we give you a dress out of a dream by Zuhair Murad. This dress is an impressive princess cut that mixes tulle and silk beautifully and is seamlessly embroidered with silver. Its accompanied by a veil in the same tone and a spectacular crown – this is a dress for royalty.
With these amazing dresses as your guide, we hope we´ve been able to inspire you to be bold with your choices. Big risk also means big gain. Choose to be a radiant bride!
