Lots of fashion novelties are coming out of the Spring 2011 collections – removable skirts, peplums and pockets. Yes, pockets! It shouldn’t be too surprising, when you think about how much stuff a bride needs throughout the day, but this really isn’t about practicality; it’s about structure and style!
Modern brides are now tweeting from the altar, so these pockets can be handy for stashing your iPhone, tissues and some lipstick for a touch-up. Rosa Clará’s Spring 2011 collection contained a couple of dresses with pockets. Models walked down the catwalk with their hands in them and looked a little more relaxed, with a funky edge.
Wedding dresses with pockets are not new, it seems, according to this post about bridal gowns with pockets. As you can see from these older magazine photos, the pockets are a very nice touch that suits all kinds of styles, from modern to bohemian. And pockets are popping up this season on all lengths of dresses too, from short, cocktail-style dresses to long, flowing masterpieces.
