The Religious Ceremony of Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo

This weekend Pierre Casiraghi and Beatrice Borromeo celebrated the religious portion of their marriage in Italy, following their civil ceremony last weekend in Monaco. The celebrations took place on the Borromeo islands in Lake Maggiore, about 70 km from Milan. The islands and islets have been in the bride’s family since the early 16th century.

Things kicked off on Friday, with the couple entertaining guests with an informal dinner and garden party. For the occasion, the bride wore a beautifully embroidered, bohemian dress by Alberta Ferretti. She complemented her look with fresh flowers woven into her curled hair and looked very much like a Roman deity.

The next day, following the welcome dinner and garden party, the couple celebrated their religious ceremony on Isolino di San Giovanni. The bride´s family ordered a 500 metres boating-free zone around the island so that paparazzi and the public wouldn´t interfere with the ceremony. The guests included close family members and friends from both families.

Pierre wore an elegant 3-piece light gray wedding suit paired with a light blue tie that brought out his eyes. His wife, model-turned-journalist, donned a quarter-sleeve custom designed Giorgio Armani Privé ivory gown.

The newly married couple then got changed and joined their 700 guests for the reception at the Borromeo Castle, which had been closed off to the public for the weekend celebrations. Many high-profile guests were in attendance including, the crown princess of Norway and her husband, Lana Del Rey, Franca Sozzani (editor of Vogue Italia), Eva Herzigova, Lauren Santo Domingo, Poppy Delevingne, Jessica Hart, Margherita Missoni, Eugenie Niarchos, Bianca Brandolini, and so many more.

For the reception the bride changed into yet another custom designed Giorgio Armani Privé creation that we´re sure many future brides will be seeking to copy as they did with Kate Middleton´s Alexander McQueen gown. The gorgeous and romantic silk tulle dress had two shoulder extensions falling from the shoulders and held by two beautiful diamond brooches shaped as wings – a family heirlooms. Beatrice topped the look with a clean high braided bun and a diamond and gold choker necklace, emphasizing the deep barely, there back and train of her stunning dress. Pierre, meanwhile, changed into a classic, elegant tuxedo.

Among the best dressed guests, the groom´s every stylish and beautiful sister, Charlotte Casiraghi wore a lovely floral purple and green print floor-length chiffon dress with a sensual deep-v neck. She was accompanied by her boyfriend, French comedic actor Gad Elmaleh.Carlota Casiraghi y Gad Elmaleh.
