Streamer Wedding Decorations! A Fun & Colorful DIY Idea

Photo by Fresh in Love Photography

Streamers aren’t just for birthdays anymore! Because they’re so inexpensive and easy to make, it’s really surprising how beautiful streamer wedding decorations can be.

We love it when wedding couples get creative with all kinds of streamers from crepe paper to fabric to ribbons – all materials available at the local craft store. Drape them, display them on tables and floors or tie them into pretty streamer garlands. DIY wedding decorations were never this easy and fun!

Multi-colored streamers hanging from venue rafters and wedding tents bring a festive splash of color to the ceremony and reception. Hang some colorful paper lanterns and pretty parasols as accents. We can’t get over how great the wedding guest chairs above look with streamers cascading to the floor. This design from My Simple Details is indeed simple to create, with a vibrant effect.

Streamer Table Decorations from Martha Stewart

Even displaying paper streamers flat along the church floor or reception tables looks wonderful! For table decorating, consider adding a transparent tablecloth over your streamer design to keep it in place.

To achieve the ombre wedding decoration styling above from Martha Stewart, use varying shades of your own wedding colors on tables and around glass candle holders for centerpieces.

Fabric wedding streamers can look elegant draped from wedding altars or beautifully bohemian strung as garlands over reception food tables. Solid pale silk streamers in cream and gold would be a stunning backdrop for a candlelight ceremony. We love the look of a curtain of soft blue streamers hung from a beautiful tree. Or choose ribbons and cotton-strip streamers in bold patterns like chic polka dots to bring some sweet whimsy to your wedding style.

Avoiding the mess of birdseed while also adding authenticity to a Jane Austin-themed wedding, these flowing ribbon streamers from An Accomplished Woman were waved as the newlyweds dashed out of the church. Attached to wooden dowels, the ribbon streamers were also displayed in church urns during the ceremony.

Do you love the look of streamer wedding decorations as much as we do? Tell us your thoughts about these designs in the comments section below!
