At times while we were looking through the images we had to stop and check that it wasn´t a look book for wedding dresses – seriously, some of these shots look like they came from an editorial in a magazine. With a gorgeous setting and a beautiful bride wedding you can see how we did a double take.
The wedding took place at the beautiful Villa Antonia in Austin, Texas – the venue looks as though it was transported directly from the Mediterranean. The beautiful, editorial-like images were taken by Svetlana Photography. As our readers may have noticed, we have a thing for international couples and Liliana and Brian fit the bill perfectly. Lilian is half-Russian, half-Iraqi born in Russia and moved to Canada, then the States; Matt is American born and bred. Their love unites them across boarders and we find that so inspiring.
How did you two meet?
Liliana: We met at the W hotel at a birthday party for a common friend. Matt came up to me and smoothly said “Hi I am Matt”. He was confident, genuine and very curious. He asked a lot of questions and wasn’t afraid to ask deep, personal questions. We talked for hours. I don’t remember much of anything else that went on that night. At the end of the night, he walked me to my car and we exchanged numbers. We texted for a while, but timing wasn’t right. A few months later we ran into each other again at a pool party, which I later learned was no accident. At the time, I just moved into my new place, and as we were catching up, I learned that he was also moving. It turned out that a few weeks later he was moving next door to me into the same complex. After that we started hanging out at least once a week, getting to know each other and became good friends. A few months later Matt confessed that he liked me and asked me on a date.

Who designed your dress?
Liliana: My dress is by Blush Bridal.
Did you have a particular theme?
Liliana: As far as colors and inspirations for the wedding decorations, Matt and I quickly decided that purple will be the main color. It’s the color of royalty – can’t go wrong with that! We wanted the overall feel to be modern, elegant and classy with James Bond’s style in mind.
Who did your flowers?
Liliana: When we met with our florist Visual Lyrics, we picked purple orchids for the center pieces inside a cylinder of water with white orchids on top – that was Matt’s pick. Orchids were the flowers he bought for me throughout our dating. For girls bouquets we used white lily’s (since my name is Lily) mixed with orchids. For the guy’s boutonnieres, monkey tail (because I love monkeys!) topped off with a purple orchid.
