Kelly + John’s Wedding Adventure in Zion National Park

What better way to begin the journey of marriage than with an adventure? That’s exactly what Kelly and John were thinking when it came to their big day. The couple combined their shared love of the outdoors to create an event full of character and imagination. What we love most about this wedding is that every detail seems to reflect the personalities of the bride and groom, from the venue to the favors. Gideon Photography and Red Tie Cinema were there to capture every moment.

The bride, who wore a delicate lace gown from Moonlight Bridal says, “I knew I wanted lace and I loved the illusion neckline and back detail. It was actually the very first dress I tried on! I was so surprised to have such a strong reaction that early but nothing after could compare.”

With breathtaking views and a sentimental value for the couple, Zion National Park seemed like the perfect location for the wedding. Kelly says, “The wedding venue was Cliffrose Lodge and Gardens in the heart of Zion National Park. The first trip John and I ever took together was to Zion National Park and I instantly fell in love with it. We chose it because we wanted a completely outdoor ceremony and reception with stunning mountain views.”

“John and I met on our first day of dental school at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. We were given assigned seats next to each other in the simulation lab. We were lab partners and best friends for over 2 years before we started dating” says Kelly. John and Kelly incorporated important parts of their story, like their time at dental school into the wedding decorations. Kelly says, “Since we met in dental school, we decided to use vintage dentistry textbook pages to make cones of dried lavender for the ceremony send-off.”

One of our favorite details is the build your own trail mix bar and “Happy Trails” favor bags which the couple included to show guests their love for outdoor adventure.

According to the groom, the best part of the day was: “Reading my vows to my cute little thing.” Aww. We wish them the best on their new adventure!
