Last week, Zankyou organised a “Perfect Honeymoon” event in the Spanish capital of Madrid. They showcased two of the hottest honeymoon destinations predicted for 2019: Japan and Colombia; both countries offering a wealth of culture and enticing tourist activities.
The Hotel NH Collection Eurobuilding was the perfect host location for the meeting. It took place in its sophisticated lounge and cocktail bar, which homes a welcoming and intimate terrace where couples can hold civil ceremonies. It was the perfect setting, decorated with various taster banquets, which the hotel offers to its couples.
Traditional and modern, a Japan for every couple
Japan is one of the destinations which has sparked a strong interest from couples in the last few years; the fusion that is modern meets traditional is one of the main attractions that leads hundreds of couples to choose this destination for their honeymoon. The National Tourism Office of Japan produced a convincing display to show guests that there is a Japan for each and every couple. Their immense cultural and touristic offer adapts to all needs and tastes: gastronomy, cultural, traditional, modern, natural, beaches … A great variety of experiences from which to choose, whether it be some or all of them.
Among its wonderful cities, Tokyo stands out, as the diverse capital; Hakone, a city full of natural spas, at the foot of Mount Fuji; Kyoto and Nara, two thousand-year-old cities full of history; Okinawa, secret paradise full of amazing beaches; and the villages Takayama and Shirakawa-go to transport yourself to the samurai era.
In addition, the agencies JTB and Asian Destinations shared their best offers with the couples in attendence, information on flights and airports, the possibility of choosing different packages to experience Japan in all its richness and several recommendations on transport, experiences and must-see places of interest.
Colombia, the land of sobrosura
Located in the heart of South America, between the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, Colombia has become a perfect destination for travelers who seek idyllic backdrops, nature, adventure and, above all, a great cultural and social experience.
Procolombia, Colombian tourism office, showed us some of the most inspiring places throughout the country, such as the Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, the colonial churches of Cartagena de Indias and the Andean mountain range with its coffee landscape, considered a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
In addition, they recommended three unmissable places to visit during the honeymoon: Cartagena de Indias, the Caribbean city, noted for its colonial architecture of more than 500 years, its lush landscapes and its excellent cuisine; Bogotá, the capital of the country whose historic center of La Candelaria houses narrow streets in which churches, squares and colonial mansions coexist in harmony with modern buildings and the Gold Museum that collects the legend of El Dorado; and finally, the Tayrona Natural Park, perfect for lovers of hiking and nature, and where you can discover wonders such as mangroves, corals, algae grasslands, dry and wet forests, a wide variety of animal species and remains of archaeological sites of ancestral cultures.
At the end of the event, attendees enjoyed a wonderful cocktail, sample of the wonderful gastronomic offer that the NH Collection Eurobuilding Hotel has for weddings, under the command of Luis Bartolomé, its chef. Thanks to Marca País Colombia, attendees could also taste the diversity of fruits of the country in an impressive ceviche with passion fruit and a traditional merengón de guanábana prepared by the Colombian chef Diego Jacobo, from the Bosque restaurant.
