Choose bridal shoes that suit YOU!

Choosing your wedding shoes is most likely a moment that you’d like to share with your friends, however the difficulty with that is they often have very different opinions. Throughout the process of choosing your bridal shoes you’ve probably heard sentences like “Oh no, don’t even think about colored heels, it is shows a lack of taste,” or “you shouldn’t wear high heels, you won’t be able to wear them all day” or “you need a minimum of 5 inches or you will look to small in your wedding pictures.” Though well-meaning, all these different ways of thinking must be confusing and Label’Emotion London is here to make this clear: all you have to keep in mind that you should pick out a shoe that best fits YOU and YOUR sense of style.

Heels or flats?

If you’re used to wearing high heels and you’re comfortable in them, then you can definitely go for a 4 or 5 inch heel, on the contrary, if you generally stick to flats or maximum 3 inch heels, then you should consider those styles for your bridal shoe. If you want height, you can always opt for a wedge style. Whatever the case, stick to what you’re used to – even if you fall in love with a pair of Louboutin’s with skyscraper heels, why take the chance on your big day of being in pain and looking ridiculous (we all know it takes some practice to be comfortable in heels)? It’s probably not the time to experiment and the most important thing is that you feel comfortable and self-confident in the bridal shoes you choose.

If you really want to walk down the aisle with heels, whatever the inch, be sure to have a spare pair of comfy shoes on hand like flats or wedges for the reception and flip flops for the late night dancing, so your focus will be on the dance floor and not on your blisters.

A piece of advice: don’t wear your shoes for the first time on your wedding day. Make sure you buy them at least a few weeks before the wedding and wear them around the house or to dinner to get them worn in a bit before the big day.

Bridal Shoes for Long or Short Wedding Dresses

If you choose to wear a long dress that will cover most of your shoe, you probably don’t need a flashy shoe as most people will not be able to see it. If you want a little flash, choose a pair with sparkles on the tip, as it’ll be the most perceptive part of the shoe.

If you opted for a short dress, the shoes are obviously much more visible and therefore you’ll have to match them a little more closely to your bridal look. You can play with more styles, or you can keep it simple, as well.

A little tip, take a swatch of your dress fabric as well as a photo of your wedding dress with you when you choose your shoes to make sure that it matches up and the color doesn’t clash. And don’t forget: your shoes have to be consistent with your theme and venue, too. Think about the type of wedding you’re having. If you’re planning a country garden, rustic or woodland wedding where you’ll spend a lot of time outdoors then wedges or flats would be a good option, or wear heel protectors.

Don’t be afraid to play with color! These days brides are experimenting with their bridal looks and one of the ways to add a touch of modernity and fun is to don a pair of colorful heels. How amazing do these electric blue Jimmy Choo heels look with this lovely wedding dress?

Boots with the Fur

If you’ve planned a winter wedding, definitely consider a pair of fur boots so that you can walk through the snow and puddles and not spoil your shoes.

We admit, all this takes a lot of time and it can be quite stressful for a working bride-to-be to find time in her busy schedule to find the perfect bridal shoe. That’s where Label’ Emotion London can lend a helping hand – as being planners and wedding stylists the agency can help you manage your budget, find the perfect suppliers (even your wedding dress and shoes), coordinate the D-Day, style your venue and so much more!
