Colombia is most certainly a top destination for American couples seeking an exotic and colorful wedding. It is possibly one of the most beautiful countries in the continent of South America, with an enviable climate, lush green rainforest, marvellous beaches, an eclectic culture and a growing number of spectacular destination wedding venues.
Situated an hour out of the neoclassical city of Cali, where salsa dancing thrives, is a remote wedding venue that will take your breath away. Hacienda La Pampalinda combines the rustic and natural elements of its countryside surroundings with a modern, innovative and artistic take on weddings. So, if you’re looking for an unforgettable wedding venue in the heart of the lush green Colombian landscape, then read on for answers to all your questions.
About the venue
We asked the team at Hacienda La Pampalinda all the necessary questions about this spectacular venue so that you don’t have to. Firstly, we wondered about the history of the venue.
“Initially, La Pampalinda was not created as a wedding venue, it was acquired as a family holiday home, but as the children grew the farm was visited less and less. So, the owner decided to give life to the place by turning it into a wedding venue, generating employment and excitement in the local area. Now, all members of the family work as a team, in a thriving family business that welcomes guests from all over the world.”

The spaces available
When choosing a wedding venue, it’s important to know what the spaces are like, and what the capacity is, before deciding whether it is right for your wedding size and theme. Well, Hacienda La Pampalinda seems to have it all… indoor, outdoor, large and small. This is what the team had to say:
“We have a plethora of open and closed spaces. The Salón has a capacity for 240 people, and it’s under a roof but surrounded by open spaces. This large reception room overlooks a pretty lake full of fish and lotuses, and opens onto a terrace which is perfect for a welcome drinks or cocktail area. There is also a pool terrace which looks magical when lit up at night time.”
Luckily for destination wedding couples, the venue also has two places for accommodation: a house that can host 14 people, or a cabin with a capacity for 36 people. The whole farm is surrounded by gardens, trees and activities such as a soccer field and volleyball pitch, so your guests really will enjoy a unique travel vacation as they attend your beautiful wedding.
Another unique selling point of this venue is that it has it’s own licensed chapel, which is part of the parish of the small village in which it sits. So you won’t have to go far for a religious ceremony, either!
And just to make sure that you know all there is to know about such a beautiful Colombian wedding venue, here’s a Q&A with Hacienda La Pampalinda:
What style of weddings is the venue suited for?
“We have designed all types of weddings from very elegant to very sober, our environments are rustic but we adapt to the tastes of each and every couple, our packages offer Standard and Luxury services.”
How far in advance should a couple reserve their date?
“The ideal is for a couple to begin their search in advance, but we have also had couples who have taken cancellation slots just a month or three months beforehand. Usually, the contracting average is 1 year or 9 months”
Do you have an in-house catering team? Can the couple choose their own catering services?
“We have an industrial kitchen on site with our own team of excellent chefs, and we also offer extras such as desserts, snacks and canapés.”
Do you have any advice for couples who want a perfect destination wedding?
“Let yourself be advised but never lose sight of your own tastes and personality, that day is yours and the best celebration is one that has its own unique stamp.”
So, for those of you seeking a destination wedding venue in Colombia, would you really choose anywhere else? Hacienda La Pampalinda suits all wedding sizes, all wedding themes, and has stunning locations for an emotional ceremony – whether you want a religious service in the chapel or a civil ceremony in their pretty gardens.
