There’s something about the springtime that make designers bloom with romance and love. Carolina Herrera was no exception, and in her spring wedding dress collection for New York Bridal Fashion Week Spring 2014, her creations are overflowing with it.
In nature, the bells of spring ring when budding flowers make their arrival, when the weather warms and the breeze is gentle, and the outdoors are more lively and spry.
In the wedding world, spring ushers itself in countless ways: more fanciful embellishments; lace, tulle, and organza are used by the meter, and the dresses overall are more flirty and playful as opposed to the Fall designs, when they are heavy and more dramatic.
Carolina Herrera certainly ventured into the world of lace for her latest line. Her favorite among all of the lace fabrics was the gorgeous and sumptuous chantilly lace, and she lovingly paired them with silk organza; a match-made in fabric heaven.
Her detailing on her dresses were more involved for this season, as we saw bodices decked in adornments that were enchanting. Carolina left no stone unturned, and she even extended her creativity and elegance to her veils. Silk ribbons and bead work were seen flowing down these elegant head ornaments.
It’s no wonder that wedding dress designers get their inspiration from the beauty of nature. The florals, the intricacy, and the pain-staking creation of it all has translated itself into Carolina’s design and we’re sure that Mother Nature herself would become green with envy.
