Another Royal Wedding for 2018! Princess Eugenie Marries at Windsor

They said yes! In front of a whole house full of Royal guests and celebrity friends, Princess Eugenie of York and her long-term boyfriend Jack Brooksbank tied the knot in a classic ceremony at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle this weekend

Windsor Castle hosted its second Royal Wedding for the year this weekend, as ninth-in-line (although now tenth as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed they were expecting their first child today) to the throne Princess Eugenie married Jack Brooksbank. This came five months after the aforementioned couple said their vows in the same place.

The Queen’s granddaughter looked truly stunning in her bridal dress, designed by the masters Peter Pilotto and Christopher de Vos. Long-sleeved, without lace, but with a metre-long train and a deep back, this dress was perfect for a Royal Wedding – and also showed off Princess Eugenie’s scoliosis scar, which she said was done intentionally to inspire other young women with the same condition! What a lady!

Additionally, Princess Eugenie wore the Greville Emerald tiara for her big day, which was lent to her by her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. The tiara consists of pink diamonds and emeralds, and was a true showstopper. Princess Eugenie also wore diamond and emerald earrings, which were a gift to her from her groom, Jack Brooksbank.

The beautiful bride’s bouquet consisted of lillies of the valley, garland snare, baby-blue thistles, white roses and ivy – and myrtle trunks were also included in the bouquet, for a very natural and contemporary feel.

After leaving the chapel as man and wife, they were greeted by applause and cheers, which was followed by a carriage tour of Windsor. Having traversed the city in their carriage, Eugenie and Jack then returned to the site of their marriage at Windsor Castle for a reception – hosted by none other than the Queen of England!

And of course the wedding cake was designed to impress! This incredible pastry was painstakingly prepared by the pastry chef Sophie Cabot, and consisted of a Red Velvet cake with chocolate cream. A Fall theme was obvious in the colours chosen to decorate the cake – ivory, green and orange leaves, and small flowers adorned this marvellous sweet invention.

The official wedding photos were also a joy to behold upon their release yesterday afternoon. With their flowers girls, page-boys and closest relatives present, these photos truly encompassed the spirit of the day. On the groom’s side are his parents Nicola and George Brooksbank, alongside his brother and best man Tom. On Eugenie’s side are her sister, Beatrice, her mother Sarah Ferguson (Fergie to us commoners!), and her father Prince Andrew. Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip sat in chairs in front of them.

In her wedding dress, Eugenie of York literally beams at her husband’s side. Add to that the little royals – including the eldest two of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s three children – and these photos become the perfect souvenir of this beautiful fairytale wedding.

Like all Royals – and most brides now too – Princess Eugenie wore a second dress to celebrate at her reception. The cream-pink gown with long sleeves was designed by the famous Zac Posen, and we have to say, we really love it!

Princess Eugenie is the director at a contemporary art gallery in London, and her husband is a brand ambassador for a tequila manufacturer. The couple first met in 2010 at a skirt resort in Switzerland, with a proposal coming nearly eight years later in the January of this year when Jack proposed to Eugenie on holiday in Nicaragua.
