According to Lauren, she and Jordan met “‘the old fashioned way’… online!” After meeting in the most modern way possible, the couple decided on something a little more old-fashioned for their wedding day: Olympia’s Valley Estate, a historic dairy farm and seasonal event venue. Sabine Scherer was there to capture all of the fun moments and gorgeous details of this rustic wedding.
On the engagement: “We went hiking on Mount Tamalpais with our dogs; one of our favorite places. He wanted to initially take me to the side of the road that has great views but doesn’t allow dogs and I said ‘no, I don’t want to go over there if they can’t!’ So I kind of spoiled his first idea. Then along the hike we sat down on this beautiful grassy knoll because I had a stomach ache. He pulled the ring out of his pocket and asked if it would help my tummy ache go away… Amazingly, it did!”
If you ask us, it seems like Lauren was destined to wear her Nicole Miller dress, but like most brides-to-be, she originally had something else in mind for the big day. “I had gone into the dress buying process with totally different ideas of what I wanted… Once I started trying dresses on, I soon realized what I had in my head did not flatter my look or body type, so I opened up to trying on a bunch of different dresses I would never have thought to consider. When I tried on my Nicole Miller dress I instantly knew it was “the one” and my girlfriend and sales associate totally agreed,” says Lauren.
For Lauren, the first dance was the most special moment of the day. She says, “We had taken a few lessons, had a choreographed routine, but were both so nervous to mess it up. But once we got up there and the music played it was like we were in our own little world. It wasn’t perfect but it was fun and we were just focused on each other.”
