A wedding by the sea? Yes please! And where better than the romantic north-western coast of Spain with its spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean. Couple Menchu and Manuel have shared their beautiful day with us, when they got married at the Parador di Bayona in May 2012.
This historical parador was home to both the ceremony and reception in a spectacular day out for the couple, their families and friends.
The parador has its own chapel, allowing for religious ceremonies to be held. Then, things moved on to a cocktail reception in the Medieval Room, accompanied by the melodies of local musicians.
Local meat, wine and seafood were all part of the reception in the grand banqueting hall with its elegant and classic decoration.
Meanwhile, while the groom, accompanied by his mother, wore a morning suit, the bride looked gorgeous in a mikado silk gown by Isabel Leguina.
Things just got better as the night unfolded. The couple danced a tango and then, there was an amazin firework display over the ocean, framed by a clear, starry night. This amazing location gave a perfect backdrop to Manuel and Menchu’s truly perfect day.
So, if you’re looking for a location that combines history and modernity, the ocean and countryside and great food and drink, you should start thinking about planning a destination wedding in the Parador de Baiona in north-western Spain.
