The day before your wedding is important, and what you do can effect how the big day will turn out. That’s why we want to tell you a few things that you’re be better off avoiding before the grand event.
1. Work
We know you probably don’t plan on going into the office the day before the wedding, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be working. Disconnecting from your phone, computer, iPad, and all electronic devices is key. If you find scrolling through Instagram to be relaxing, then by all means, go for it. Just don’t overdo it. You should be fully engaged and involved in this special day.
2. Experiment with your skin routine
Please, don’t decide the day before that you’re not tan enough and go do something crazy. Leave your skin as is. Self tanner and sunbathing are risks you don’t want to take. After all, we’re talking about the most photographed day of your entire existence. You don’t want your wedding photos to haunt you. If you would like to be tan on your wedding, experiment with products far in advance.
3. Experimenting with hair removal
It’s not ideal to experiment with waxing, laser, threading, or other hair removal methods you’ve never done before. You might get burned (literally). The last thing you want is red, irritated skin in your wedding photos. Make sure you test out whatever hair removal method you have planned.
4. Junk food
Avoid food with saturated fats and preservatives. Processed foods are often very high in sodium which leads to water retention. It might be delicious, but is it really worth puffy eyes and a bloated tummy? Junk food can also affect skin by creating breakouts and excess oil. Better to leave the fast food for another day.
5. Certain vegetables
Though we recommend a light and healthy dinner, be careful with cabbage, lettuce, cauliflower, broccoli, and beans. They will only make you gassy and bloated. Not the sexiest feeling in the world if you ask us.
6. Staying up late
We know you’ll be nervous and it might take some time to fall asleep but make sure you get in bed at a decent hour. Even if you can’t sleep, your body will at least feel rested. Have some tea. Read for a bit. Do whatever it takes to get your beauty sleep.
7. Getting annoyed or upset
Acting out when things don’t go your way can spoil the big day. Just remember the important things, like your soon to be husband, and let go of any small mishaps. After all, you don’t want to be remembered as a bridezilla.
8. Booze
It’s crucial to avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours before the big day. The longer you can put it off, the better. Booze will leave your skin dehydrated, your eyes puffy, and your face tired. While we’re on the subject, it’s a good idea to also give up carbonated drinks. They’ll just make you more bloated.
9. Extreme sports
It’s one thing to take a nice stroll with your headphones to calm your pre-wedding nerves. It’s another to hit the gym for an intense session of CrossFit. Remember, you need to walk down the aisle tomorrow. You don’t want any injuries that will prevent you from doing that.
10. New beauty products
Forget about trying a new brand of foundation or bronzer. If you have an allergic reaction, you’ll remember it forever.
11. Trying on the new dress
You read that correctly. The day before your wedding, everything should be prepared in a designated corner: the lingerie, jewelry, shoes, and dress. Don’t tamper with any of it. Do you really want a stain or rip in your wedding dress? Didn’t think so.
12. Overthinking
Just don’t. All of the wedding preparations have been made. Thinking isn’t going to change anything. Get rid of any fear or doubt and get ready to dance the night away.
Follow our advice and everything will be great. We promise!
