As you´ve seen over the past few posts we´ve been drooling over the sumptuous glamour of the 87th Academy Awards. Ever since we saw them, we´ve dream of wearing these red carpet dresses at our own wedding. We tend to focus on the dresses, but we couldn´t ignore the lovely hairstyles this year.

If we´re talking hairstyles, we have to start with Scarlett Johansson who sported an edgy slicked-back, side buzz cut that highlighted her incredible green gown, which also made our pick for the top five looks at the Oscars. Next we have to say we really enjoyed the elegant ponytails as seen on Dakota Johnson and Jennifer Lopez, giving their glamorous looks a casual touch. We also liked the gentle waves on Emma Stone, the paleness of her skin tone is beautifully accented by the deep color of her hair. Speaking of framing, we thought Felicity Jones´s bangs were absolutely lovely. You also have to know when to take hair out of the equation like Karolina Kurkova and Julianne Moore who kept their up-dos simple and left all the attention to their dresses. Always a great choice is just leaving your hair naturally loose, provided it´s well groomed, like Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Aniston, or for a bit of added structure you can slick back your loose hair like Gwyneth Paltrow.

What we´ve seen is that when done right, any style can look absolutely lovely. Whether you want to let your hair loose or put it in an up-do, this gallery can give you an idea of how to style your hair for your wedding day, or to any special event.
