At the Met Gala, fashion and art become one. Here celebrities can take more fashion-forward risks with their outfits and with the theme being “China: Through the Looking Glass”, we got to see some spectacular pieces.

Many of the invited celebrities who paraded down the red carpet chose looks inspired in some way by the Far East. Some maintained a demure, respectful nod towards the far east. In particular, we liked the stylish white dresses (which can inspire you to your wedding dress), worn by Uma Thurman, Sofia VergaraAmanda Seyfried, and Selena Gomez (how amazing are those tassels?). Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson glowed in gold, but we´d have to say the best dress belongs Amal Clooney. The deep China red looks amazing on her, and we loved the modern bodice and layered skirt. We weren´t that thrilled about Anna Wintour´s Chanel outfit or Reese Witherspoon´s dress – the color overwhelms their small, pale frames.

Their dresses were all lovely, but not particularly daring. If we´re going to talk striking, then by far Beyoncé and Kim Kardashian caught the attention of everyone and for all the right reasons – both women looked absolutely gorgeous. Jennifer Lopez is a close second in the transparent category. Now, we´re big fans of Sarah Jessica Parker, but this outfit was not on point. In fact, it was so far off the point, it might have been comical if not for the fact that it was inappropriately east orientalist. And as for Rihanna, love it or hate it, the dress is a talking point – it was hand-sewn by one woman and took two years to make!
