Your Dream Destination Wedding in Ibiza

We know many couples love getting married abroad – destination weddings are on the up and more and more couples are catching a flight before they walk down the aisle. Zankyou will be looking at a range of destinations that are a particular favorites for our couples. Today we start with Ibiza and the insights of two experienced wedding planners.
As the weather starts to get cooler, many couples want a location with warmer temperatures. For many couples, having a sunny day and getting married on a beach is a must. Although that’s not the only reason people decide to get married in Ibiza…
“For a lot of people the first thing that springs to mind when you think about Ibiza is the clubbing,” says Kelly Hood of Boho Weddings & Events. “But the island has way more to offer than just that – lots of stunning locations for a wedding, the weather is amazing, the views are fabulous and the food is out of this world!”

“By having their wedding abroad the happy couple get to spend the weekend or a few days with their guests,” says Serena Cook, founder of Deliciously Sorted. “The guests will get to know each other and it creates a different ambience than a one-day event in their home country.”

So how can you get by planning a wedding in Ibiza? Zankyou thinks hiring a wedding planner is a good choice. “Ibiza is a small island, so you will often get one thing from one supplier and another thing from a different one, so you might be using 25 different suppliers to create the day,” says Serena.

Kelly sees a wedding planner as a way of cutting out a lot of work for you. “I always offer my couples options but it is up to me to do the leg work and work with the contacts I have on the island to make the job of the bride and groom that much easier!”

OK, while I’m getting convinced that if I were to marry abroad, I’d be popping off to Ibiza to do it, what can we do to convince you Zankyouers a little more? “I feel that when you get married abroad, you don’t tend to stress over the little things as much,” says Kelly. “Everything is more relaxed and a lot simpler and you get the spiritual nature of what Ibiza is all about!”

“The possibilities are endless and definitely unique,” says Serena. “You can be outside, dancing under the stars, and if you decide to get married in the countryside, you can have a pre-event on the beach or vice versa!”
