Grooms, Wedding Tuxedo, Suit or Something Else?
We’re always going on about THE DRESS, but we mustn’t forget that you guys are just as important as us girls on the big day. So it’s time to look for THE SUIT, and to make sure that you’re looking your best.
Tuxedo and suit rentals are the most common option for larger wedding parties, and it’s great for saving money. But there’s also something to be said about getting a bespoke wedding suit, or splashing out on a designer jacket and trousers, like Hugo Boss‘s Passolini suit (see below), that will make you look and feel like a million bucks.
So what should you grooms be taking into account when you head out to buy your wedding suit? Here are some Zk tips for you…
How many are there going to be in the bridal party? If you just want a suit for you and your best man, then get together and think about your individual styles and what they have in common. If there are lots of you and you all have different income levels, rentals might be the way to go.
What’s the style of the wedding? If you’re getting married in a cathedral, then your suit will probably be a little more formal than gear for a destination wedding on the beach. Talk to your bride – what look can you both agree on for your big day?
Ask your other half about colors. You don’t necessarily have to have a pink cumberbund just because the bridesmaids are wearing pink. You can always do a more neutral accent color, such as silver, white or ivory.
Get your future father-in-law in on the discussion. What are his thoughts? Do you two want to match? He’ll appreciate being kept in the loop.

Remember accessories – shoes, watch, tie. Try to invest in at least good piece that you’ll use again, such as a nice pair of cufflinks. And try something new, such as a pocket square from Hermes.
Just like your partner, you need to wear something you feel comfortable in. You’re going to be wearing your wedding suit for the whole day and have photos that will last a lifetime. If that means wearing Chucks with your Armani suit, then do it.
