Wedding Day Hair Extensions: Yes or No?
Do you dream of walking down the aisle with long, flowing, storybook locks, but have a short and sassy ‘do? Two words: hair extensions.
Hair extensions have become mainstream over the years, and they are now available in every length, color, texture and style imaginable. You can have real human hair extensions, synthetic extensions or clip-ons, and your extensions can be sewn into a weave, glued on, bonded or ‘modulated’. There’s really no limit to adding a little something to your bridal hairstyle.
Since your wedding lasts just one day, temporary hair extensions are the lengthening choice of most brides. These are more affordable than permanent hair extensions, which last for months and often cost thousands of dollars.
Celebrities have been sporting hair extensions for movie roles and on the red carpet for years, and now some famous faces are creating their own hair extension lines. Vivica A. Fox has her own line of lace-front wigs with Laissez Faire Hair and Paris Hilton has her own DreamCatchers line of hair extensions.
Brides often have strong opinions on the subject of wedding hair extensions. Some believe that you should have exactly the look you want on your wedding day, even if it means using some hairstyle ‘tricks’. Others believe that you should look like yourself, and by adding on fake hair, your fiance and guests will not see the real you.
What do you think? Do you think hair extensions are tacky and fake or pretty and fabulous?
