Eye-Catching Wedding Color Combos – Fall/Winter 2010

Wedding color combinations for fall and winter 2010

There are lots of fall and winter weddings coming up, and choosing your wedding color scheme is one of the first choices you make. Nowhere is it written that fall weddings must include ochre autumn leaf tones, and winter weddings don’t need to be awash in Christmas red. Here are some fresh wedding color combinations that would make for some lovely weddings in the upcoming chilly seasons.

Pink and Gray

We’ve already voiced our love for yellow and gray this summer, and this is another combination that is both whimsical and elegant. Whether it’s pale pink contrasting with charcoal gray, or fuchsia adding some punch to pale dove gray, this combination has endless possibilities. Think about powder pink flowers, gunmetal gray suits, silver accents… the list goes on. Neutral gray tones keep the pink from becoming too bubble-gum sweet, creating a perfect balance that can be both masculine and feminine.

Pink and Copper

We promise we don’t have that much of a thing for pink (well, except for our fabulous logo), but this is another winning color combination featuring the rosy hue. Copper is such a rich, warm color for the fall and winter months. It can work for rustic or black tie affairs, and it’s more unexpected than gold.

Stark white paired with sky blue has long been a favorite for winter weddings. Think of this combo as its more subtle, jewel-toned cousin.

The combination of midnight blue and creamy ivory is timeless and striking. With another accent color like sage green, the aforementioned copper, or yet again, pink, this can be a winning wedding color pairing.

I just went to a wedding where the color scheme was navy blue and mint green. It’s not a color combination I would have ever thought of, but everything looked beautiful!

I guess I will say “Thanks” for including the picture of a wedding cake I made for a friend’s niece. It sure would have been nice for you to have given me a heads up, though. Tiffiny Felix, The Bake-Off Flunkie.
