Summer 2012 Wedding Hair Trends & Bridal Hairstyles

From romantic braids to vintage glamour – summer 2012 wedding hair trends are already turning heads this year. Whether free form, intricate or sleek, there’s a summer wedding hair look for every style of bride.

Romantic Braids: Braids are still popular as ever for this wedding season! Elaborate full-crown braid styles keep pretty wedding hair looking sweet in the heat. Elegant rope-braid hair accents tucked into a low loose bun blend two summer wedding hair trends with one style. We still think the side swept braid with loose tendrils around a bride’s face is a gorgeous wedding hairstyle.

Loose Up-Dos with Elegant Headpieces: Bring on the beaded or floral headpieces and short birdcage veils, because they compliment loose and lovely wedding up-dos so beautifully. Chignons and buns never looked so fashionably free form and we love them all. Pictured here are new wedding headpieces from Tessa Kim for Summer 2012. Large flower blooms, either fresh or silk, are summer wedding up-do favorites this year.

Wavy and Windswept: Do you prefer your wedding hair naturally wavy and stylishly windswept? Then the summer wedding hair trend of wearing locks loose and tousled is the perfect style for you. Try a lace or wildflower crown as a gorgeous accessory for this wispy wedding look.

The Tailored Bow: Here’s a wedding hairstyle that needs no introduction since the indelible Lady Gaga recently helped make the tailored hair bow one of the latest worldwide trends. Wrap and fasten hair into a bow-shape up high or closer to the nape of the neck. We think the tailored bow style works best for wedding dresses with vintage or modern simplicity, as this look is definitely a showpiece!

Vintage Glamour: Old Hollywood takes center stage for vintage glamour-inspired wedding hair. We’re seeing lots of sleek hair crowns ending in elegant waves in low knots or cascading across a bride’s shoulders. We showed you hints of these vintage glamour styles on the red carpet at the 2012 Oscars. Summer brides like in the vintage-inspired wedding photo above (Crystal and Joey’s Wedding, from Kim Maguire Photography) will be making these looks their own.

by the end of 2012 and throughout the year of 2013, i won’t be surprised to see multiple hair dyeing techniques, personalized haircuts and hairdos, excessive hair play and experimenting, unique downdos, half updos and updos, an array of bobs, pixies, shags, afros, mohawks, spikes, and ponytails, straight and curly hair done in a big way, and the list goes on and on.
