The simple, understated wedding dresses are characteristic of the designer whose vision is to create classic silhouettes with a whimsical twist.

“My philosophy of design is about creating beautiful, hand finished clothes that exude a casual luxury and refinement.” – Lela Rose

Her philosophy is well-manifested in the seemingly effortless elegance of her Fall 2012 bridal collection.

Compared to other designer’s collections – like the Reem Arca bridal collection for Fall 2012, where texture reigns supreme – these dresses might seem stark. But there is more to Rose’s collection than meets the eye. The beauty of the collection lies in subtle details like intricate embellishments and an innovative use of fabrics.

Rose did add a bit of texture to the collection by incorporating lace, like we saw on many dresses for Spring 2012. Whether in subtle trim or all over lattice, lace adds a touch of vintage romance. Soft and feminine necklines give the dresses a relaxed and very elegant look. This collection is perfect for brides searching for a simple and sophisticated wedding dress.

I really like these simple wedding dresses. I just wish they were more of them. Seven pieces seems like a very small collection.

This collection just seems kind of ‘blah’ to me. I understand understated but they could have at least put some kind of jewelry or other accessory on the models.
