Hooray! More new collections! It’s fashion news time in bridal, with all the top designers showing their latest work. Time to see already what next season’s trends will be, how designers innovate and what kinds of looks will be trickling through into weddings for the next couple of years!

So after Jenny Packham’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection and the Vera Wang Fall 2010 collection, it’s now Reem Acra’s turn. Remember the Reem Acra Spring 2010 Collection? Biiiig skirts, airy looks, pastel colors. So what’s changed in a season?

Acra’s brought the key wedding trend of sleeves into her look thanks to her Japanese-inspired kimonos, while dainty embellishments also abound. I’m also loving the statement jewelry collar on one of her dresses (just a glimpse in the video below).

The big skirts are still there (tiered rather than full), but not as prim and proper as last season, although the structure is still there and texture is added with layers of organza and tulle. Meanwhile the mermaid-style dress is a firm favorite with Acra this season, again reinforcing the general film star bridal look of the coming season (I told you it was one to watch!).

Take a look at this Brides.com interview with Reem Acra and watch out for the helpful veil-related touch that the designer has given for brides not so bothered with real bouquets!
