Pin Your Way To The Perfect Wedding In 5 Easy Steps
5 Steps For Using Pinterest To Plan Your Wedding
If you’ve ever loved collaging, scrapbooking, or thumb tacking your favorite photos to a bulletin board, Pinterest is absolutely for you! Pinterest is a 24/7 source of beautiful visual inspiration, and it’s fast becoming a paramount tool for wedding planning. New to Pinterest?
Step 1: Request an invite! Pinterest has built its brand on exclusivity. To join, you can request an invite from Pinterest itself, or request an invite from someone you know. We’ll be happy to send you an invite – just leave your e-mail address in the comments below!

Step 2: Get organized! Pinterest will get you started with a standard selection of inspiration folders, which you can keep, or edit to more accurately reflect your interests. You can also add as many new folders to your account as you like! Here are a few wedding folder suggestions: Bouquets & Floral Centerpieces, Wedding Dresses, Real Wedding Inspiration, Wedding Hair & Make-up, or Bridal Shoes & Accessories.
You can also create themed wedding folders, such as: Vintage Wedding Inspiration – or if you’re a stickler for period details – Victorian Wedding Inspiration, Art Deco Wedding Inspiration, “Mad Men” Wedding Inspiration, etc. Once you snag a coveted Pinterest account, be sure to sync it up with your Facebook and Twitter accounts so you can easily share your favorite pins with friends and followers!

Step 3: Get-a-pinning! The awesomeness of your Pinterest feed is largely determined by who you follow. Follow your friends, your favorite bloggers, and tastemakers. (A few of our fave pinners: Wedding Chicks, BRIDEfinds, and Ruffled. Don’t forget to follow Zankyou!) Once you’re following a diverse roster of Pinterest tastemakers, it’s easy to spend a whole evening watching your Pinterest feed. Repin what you love, browse through Pinterest’s categories, and use the “Pin It” button to pin content from all around the web. (It’s polite to pin photos and graphics from the original source, when possible. You can start your wedding inspiration journey right here at Zankyou!)
It's gorgeous, but is it really your style?
Step 4: Edit, edit, edit! After a few weeks of pinning fun, your wedding folders should be bursting with beautiful wedding ideas. Start a new folder of the pins that resonate with you most – and a coherent wedding look should start to emerge. If two or three distinct looks develop, give yourself a little more time and then do a final round of editing.

Step 5: Put your pins in practice! Once your Pinterest wedding vision is complete, it’s time to go offline and start piecing it together in real time. (It’s trying, we know.) Be sure to click through to the original sources to check out vendor info – many of your pins may be shop-able!
