Wedding decorations don’t have to be expensive or elaborate to be beautiful. Simple strands of paper garlands are a popular choice right now, and they can suit any type of wedding setting, from rustic to black-tie.

A few paper garlands can spruce up a corner of your reception venue, adorn your head table, drape across the backs of guests’ chairs, or simply hang from high ceiling beams. The strings of paper cranes above are both a good luck symbol and a whimsical decorative touch.

Paper garlands are also an easy and economical DIY project. The string of paper pompons in the photo above is actually made of coffee filters that the bride herself dyed and then strung up in the reception canopy.
