How does a blogger who is in love with another blogger pop the question? By using internet memes, of course! Then taping the whole thing and making the ever-popular viral proposal video.

Timothy Tiah surprised his girlfriend Audrey Ooi Feng last month with a heartwarming public proposal and the help of a covert filming operation by Crazy Monkey Studio. The crew hid behind wine bottles, glasses, vases and even right behind Audrey to make this amazing video which is perfectly complimented with Christina Perri’s love ballad “A Thousand Years,” a song so beautiful it could be the first dance song at their wedding.

Timothy didn’t need the help of a proposal planner in hiring the film crew, creating the elaborate scene, and making meme cards–you can tell it comes straight from the heart. Or the heart telling the brain and the brain finally agreeing with the heart…it’s all explained in the video.

The couple later both blogged about the video, garnering unexpected media attention that the couple then also blogged about. Timothy made a final post on his blog today about the meme proposal and the online media circus it created.

Audrey said on her blog “I loved that Fatty’s [her nickname for Timothy] proposal was so us…If it was any bigger or glamorous it would have been too much.  A bit geeky but whatever ok!!!! He knows I’m a meme freak so he went to research memes and rage faces so he could put it all together. He used Philosoraptor wrong though hahaha.”
