Here, she shares with us simple tricks and a few of her favorite products to help you and your makeup survive the big day.

Don’t be afraid of black eyeliner

Black eyeliner is every bride’s best friend. It truly is the difference between sparkling eyes and dull, tired eyes. Black eyeliner should be the finishing accent to your perfect big-day eye makeup. It is vital to use a touch of waterproof black eyeliner at the lash line to ensure the eye-popping results every bride longs for. Don’t go overboard with it! Just keep it close to the lashes and follow it with at least two coats of waterproof black mascara. Your eyes will be magic! Try Bobbi Brown Gel eyeliner in Black.

Bronzer by Lancome

Don’t overdo the bronzer

Bronzer is vital to achieve the perfect sun-kissed wedding look for your summer wedding makeup. Just remember a little goes a long way. It’s always easier to add more, than to take it off. Another important note, take your skin-tone into consideration when choosing a bronzer shade. If your skin has more pink-red undertones, choose a red-brown bronzer color. If you have more yellow-based tones, select a golden bronzer. Also, beware of shimmer, if your bronzer is full of glitter and shimmer, remember that is exactly how your skin will appear in photos. For a more sophisticated sun-kissed look, a matte bronzer is a safer choice.

Kiehl's Sunscreen

Wear Sunscreen

Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! It’s a must, especially if you burn easily. What many brides don’t realize is that sunscreen can make or break your coveted wedding photos. Have you ever seen photos of the “ghost bride” or the “Casper club-goer”? You know, the white face, darker body look. This is caused by a chemical sunscreen many times hidden in foundations or moisturizers. The key is to use a physical sunscreen that creates an actual barrier to the suns rays, especially for a beach wedding.  Look for sunscreens that contain ingredients such as Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide, which will protect the skin from sun damage without resulting in a ghastly, ghost face. Bare Escentuals Mineral makeup is a great way to avoid the chemical sunscreen but still protect the skin effectively from the sun’s burning rays.

A great alternative to liquid foundation is mineral makeup

K.I.S.S. (soft and simple)

K.I.S.S.  Keep It Soft and Simple! Choose color tones that enhance the natural under-tones found in your skin. Beachside lips should typically be no more than two shades darker or lighter than your natural lip color. The blush color should also be in the same family of tones as your lip color. For example, if you are opting for a juicy, citrus colored lip, make sure to pick a soft coral blusher. Eye-shadow should enhance the color of your eyes instead of making the grand entrance before you do. Please, NO neon colored eye-shades ladies! Seriously speaking, the best advice is to research your favorite beach weddings and share the look with your makeup artist and try it out before your big day. Remember, the more classically beautiful you look, the more timeless your wedding photos will remain.

Use a mineral makeup as opposed to liquid foundation

Beach weddings and mineral makeup are a bride’s dream come true. Avoiding heavy liquid and cream foundations is vital on the beach as these formulas typically heat up and melt. Your T-Zone will take a hit. Mineral makeup on the other hand, has many beach-side benefits such as a natural look while still providing coverage, physical sunscreen (as explained above), buildable coverage benefits, and a long-lasting finish. There is a foundation perfect for every moment, but without a doubt, when tying the knot on the beach, opt for mineral makeup foundation and concealer. Try the ever-so-popular Bare Minerals mineral makeup foundation by Bare Escentuals, this product comes in a variety of skin-tones and with a very-necessary SPF 15 sunscreen protection.
