Inspirational Bridal Dresses from The Valentino Haute Couture Fall 2011

The Haute Couture collections are taking place in Paris this week. Only a handful of designers will showcase their collections in this biannual event in the city of lights. Only the best designers with the best couturiers are invited to feature their work.
While most of us will probably never own these signature creations, the designs and ideas of these collections tend to trickle down to mainstream fashion and will in no doubt be widely available.
The Valentino show was one of our favorites as the design team showed whimsical and fantastical dresses to inspire brides and bridesmaids. No need to get out your checkbook and write a six figure sum however, replicas will roll out in a few months at a more reasonable price.

Each piece of dress takes months and many hours to make. They are all handmade by expert couturiers, of which there are less than 100 certified members in the whole world.

The dresses may look effortlessly simple but are made with the most exotic and rare fabrics one can find. The exquisite technique applied to the embroidery, embellishments and the mixture of organza, silk , tulle and other hard-to-find materials is the real story behind every couture dress. We may never understand why someone would pay over $100,000 dollars for these dresses, but we can all agree that they are stunning and eye-catching pieces of art.
