This hairstyle has been making its way from red carpets to white weddings this year. The style can be sleek and neat or loose and casual, and it looks good either way!

This style can work on almost any length hair, from chin-length to waist-length, straight or curly. It also looks good with most any veil length, but it is especially nice with blusher or birdcage veils.

For those forgoing veils altogether, a low side chignon looks beautiful when accented with a clip, comb or big, bold flower, such as a magnolia or gardenia.

A side chignon is lovely on brides of all ages. Here, both Cate Blanchett, 41, and Rihanna, 22, look elegant and classic.

My sister wore a side bun for her wedding and put a cluster of flowers (can’t remember what kind) at the bottom, kind of behind her ear. It looked so nice, and it really popped in the photos. Sometimes when all the detail of the updo is in the back you don’t get the full effect, so the side bun is a really good style. I might do it for my wedding too! :)
