Get Married in Times Square on New Year’s Eve

If you’d like to get into the planning spirit as you ring in the new year, you can watch one lucky couple say their vows in Times Square.

Photo via Get Married hosted a competition for engaged couples (similar to the Today Throws a Wedding contest we wrote about earlier this year). The winners would allow the public to vote on everything from their attire to their reception menu to their wedding favors.

Winning couple Bethany and Geoffrey (pictured at left) are Marine reservists who met in Iraq. Now, they’re getting ready to say ‘I do’ in front of millions of people from around the world on the biggest night of the year.

You can watch the ceremony and New Year’s Eve festivities in Times Square streaming live at, starting at 6pm EST, leading up to Bethany and Geoffrey’s wedding at 9:10pm EST.

For those of you planning a wedding, do you dream of sharing your special day with the world? Wedding competitions and sponsorships are increasingly common, and a surprising number of couples are willing to let the public decide the details of their ceremony and reception in order to get it for free.

We may have to tune into this wedding before the ball drops!
