Gay Weddings Made In Thailand
Carlos Melia is a special kind of wedding planner, you know, the kind that traverses the globe in search of beautiful destinations for weddings and honeymoons. For all you jetsetters out there, he’s here with Zankyou to show you what your wedding in Thailand could look like.
Carlos Melia, who first showed us beautiful Buenos Aires and Cape Town, was in Thailand for just three weeks earlier this month and had already been part of two gay weddings. The beautiful Asian country is becoming a popular destination for Asians and Australians to get hitched. Hotels and resorts are handling the new trend by providing fabulous ceremonies and luxury accommodations for you and your partner’s wedding or honeymoon. Melia recommends the Paresa Resort in Phuket as the perfect place for your nuptials.
Who wouldn’t say ‘I do’ with this stunning view of the Andaman Sea and Kamala Bay right from The Lawn at Paresa Resort in Phuket. Above is the setting for the main ceremony, which was magical, moving and romantic. As family and friends gathered around them, the sun was setting over the turquoise waters of the Andaman Sea and groom and groom saying ‘I do.’
The ceremony took over 20 minutes, with live performances by a local guitar player and a female singer. Very moving even for the staff of the hotel, which regardless of their sexual orientation, where all very excited about this event.
Once the ceremony was over, everyone moved down to the Infinity Pool area for some cocktails, followed by a candle dinner at the outdoors terrace overlooking Kamala Bay. Not only Phuket, this country has so many breathtaking destinations, and prices are very reasonable and convenient compared to other destinations.
Very popular destination for same-sex couples to marry here, Thailand being a Buddhist country where the main philosophy of life is ruled by the phrase ‘Mai Pen Rai’ (Google that one). So what are you waiting for? What better place to get married, than a resort which name translates from Thai as ‘Heaven of Heavens’ and where the employees are called Angels.
