Gay Nightlife in Buenos Aires on Your Honeymoon

The night time crowd in downtown Palermo

Buenos Aires is a popular destination for many gay travelers. It’s a gay-friendly city with an energetic nightlife. With the legalization of Gay Marriage in Argentina last year, the city has become a trendy stop for many gay couples looking to wed and also a vacation spot for their honeymoon.

A few weeks back, Carlos Melia, Zankyou’s newest collaborator and professional traveler, took us to his hometown of Buenos Aires. He gave us a daytime tour of Buenos Aires’ most popular neighborhoods and points of interests.

The locals enjoying the nightlife

Carlos is back to continue his tour of Buenos Aires and this time he will give us a taste of the gay nightlife. With the plethora of places to see and things to do, Carlos is the perfect guide because he is an insider and a local Porteño. Here are Carlos’ picks for a little dining and disco in Buenos Aires.

After a long day out and about in this amazing city, I decide to check out the gourmet areas of Palermo, Soho and Hollywood. I treat myself to a nice dinner and a bottle of Malbec and Torrontes. There are many so many fantastic options for dining here, but I decide to try a new restaurant called Tegui. Tegui offers contemporary modern cuisine with a hint of Argentinian flavor of course.

If  you want authentic Argentinian cuisine, then I would highly recommend MingaCasa CruzSucre and the Standard. All have superb dining and it’s great for people watching. If you want to venture off into more exotic dining, then try Osaka which is known for it’s Peruvian and Asian fusion. For those seeking a more contemporary cuisine, try Mott which serves appetizing fried prawns and fried chicken Argentinian style.

A lively Buenos Aires nightclub

When the lights go out, (which in Buenos Aires happens after 2 AM) I venture into the gay nightlife of Buenos Aires with information provided by local friends I met at EGO Bar. It takes me on a stylish fast-track of this diverse and energetic city, which stands out from the rest of South America not only for its venues and music, but for its attractive and alternative crowd.

We all have different tastes when it comes to nightlife, so here are a several lounge bars and nightclubs to try out. Human ClubRheo by CrobarAmerika, Glam and Club One are the most popular bars and clubs in all of the city.

Whether you are into fine or casual dining, a lounge bar or a lively nightclub, Buenos Aires has something for everybody. The many diverse options the city offers is what keeps many tourists coming and many others coming back.
