What looked like 46 brides walked down Lebanese designer Elie Saab‘s catwalk at Paris Fashion Week in July 2009, but this was no bridal show – it was actually his haute couture show! So is white really the new black? …
Exciting Bridal Dresses from The Elie Saab Fall Couture Show
The recent Elie Saab Haute Couture show in Paris showed superb and brilliant craftsmanship of how dresses should be made. Very few people can afford the six figure price tags these dresses come with, but ladies no need to worry. The recent demand for for Mr. Saab’s exclusive designs extended his brand to a collaboration with Pronovias featuring the first collection of Elie by Elie Sabb Bridal collection.
The collection in Paris last month exhibited some exciting gowns that will definitely trickle down to his ready to wear and bridal gown collections. Here are a few magnificent pieces that we absolutely fell in love with.
Elie Saab was an unknown Lebanon based designer until the late 1990’s when he moved his brand to Milan. He shot to fame and became an overnight success when he designed Halle Berry’s famous burgundy gown when she won the Academy Award for best actress in 2002. Since then, his designs have been featured on all of today’s Hollywood’s A-list celebrities from Jennifer Aniston, Nicole Kidman and Sarah Jessica Parker.
Over the past few years, Mr. Saab’s business has skyrocketed propelling him to the top of the fashion world. His first ready to wear collection in Milan in the late 1990’s was both a critical and commercial success. In 2003, he was invited to be a member of the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture, a select group of designers who show for Paris’ bi-annual haute couture fashion week.
