Claire Pettibone Fall 2012 Bridal Collection of Romantic, Vintage-Inspired Wedding Dresses
It was all vintage romance at the Claire Pettibone Fall 2012 runway show at New York International Bridal Week. The designer drew inspiration from a French garden party for this collection, resulting in beautiful wedding dresses that are fanciful and feminine.
Wearing halos of dainty flowers, the models at Claire Pettibone strutted down the runway in a multitude of luxurious fabrics and super romantic styles.
Quintessentially feminine and suggestive of vintage, delicate French lace was abundant in the French-inspired collection. Cute cap sleeves of lace or fine embroidery draw attention to the shoulder. Silk jacquard gave the corset-style strapless gowns a luxurious and antique look, while the satin empire-waist gowns exuded a casual elegance.
Lace sleeves and sheer lace necklines have been a huge trend for Fall 2012 and they fit right in with the vintage theme of Pettibone’s latest collection. With its long lace sleeves and high collar, this dress is typical of the Victorian wedding dresses we’ve spotted as a popular trend for 2012.
Pettibone’s idea of a French garden party inspired the high-texture florals in this collection. Three-dimensional floral accents were present in many designers‘ collections like the Fall 2012 bridal collection by Rivini.
This dress raises it’s hem like a curtain to display pretty wedding shoes along with a little bit of leg. There’s been a trend of high-low hemmed wedding dresses in bridal collections, including the collection by Oscar de la Renta. Pettibone’s pulled-up hem reveals a little something more than just the shoes–a fun floral print lining the inside of the dress.
