Breast cancer often strikes women in the prime of their lives, when they may be planning for their futures – and their weddings. We at Zk are inspired by Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation’s Brides Against Breast Cancer program, which provides terminal breast cancer patients with an opportunity to find their dream gown at an incredible savings.

Worldwide support from designers, manufacturers, bridal shops and individuals who donate a most treasured possession make these sales possible, and the proceeds from the events help bring a moment of joy to someone for whom a cure is too late.

According to the Making Memories website, this unique opportunity allows brides-to-be a chance to find their ideal wedding dress at a remarkable price, while creating a memory-making event all its own. Most gown prices range from $99 to $799, including hundreds of beautiful, new name-brand and designer gowns valued at up to $8,000 – a blessing for patients who have incurred major medical costs over the course of their cancer treatment. There are more than 32 stops throughout the country on this year’s Nationwide Tour of Gowns.

Breast cancer is the number two cause of death for women in the United States, and it is the number one cancer killer of women between the ages of 15-54. Since its inception, the Brides Against Breast Cancer program has received more than 50,000 wedding gown donations, with an estimated resale value of over $4 million. Countless lives have been touched by this disease, and now countless brave women and men have had a remarkable wedding experience thanks to Brides Against Breast Cancer.
