Bridal Dress Inspiration from Elie Saab Haute Couture Fall 2012

Brides and bridesmaids are sure to be inspired by the regal Ottoman Empire and Turkish influences of the new Elie Saab Haute Couture Collection Fall 2012 just showcased in Paris!
Exquisite embroidery, delicate flowing fabrics and deep necklines- these are just a few of our favorite elements of this Elie Saab collection called “In Constanople’s Wake.” We know that wedding dress designers will be taking note of the new couture collections, since many brides and bridesmaids long for high fashion style elements in their much more affordable bridal gowns.
Caftans, georgette dresses and elegant metal belts are prominent standouts here. Saab says this line is meant to express ”imperial splendor” and we can see why. Rich with color from pale pinks and ethereal blues to creamy greys, these dresses have airy glide and glamour fit for royalty.
Light pink embroidered guipere and lace couture dresses are stunning adorned with gold metal belts. Lace applications and embroidered brooches are favorite adornments in this collection and have very romantic bridal dress design appeal. We really love the embellished bodices paired with solid crepe skirts, too.
Solid black lace dresses with long, sheer skirts are mysteriously lovely, as is the black crepe caftan with flare sleeves. Vera Wang’s bridal collection for Fall 2012 features black and nude wedding gowns with sexy style, so wedding dress designers are already moving in this daring direction. We’re also seeing more modern and sophisticated black bridesmaids dresses growing in popularity.
Saab couture dresses in gold and stone are light and glittery, perfectly suited for wedding style inspiration! The jacquard short skirt suit in gold with embroidered guipure and gold metal belt looks both savvy and elegant – perhaps also appealing to the mother-of-the-bride!
Don’t be surprised if you see bridal and bridesmaid dresses with more sexy cuts like the slightly bohemian dress above, with its narrow sheer front panel so low it bares the belly button. As proved by crop-top bridal pantsuit from Oscar de la Renta for Spring 2013, sexy-peek designs like these are sneaking into wedding collections coming soon.
The opulent beauty of Saab’s soft cadet blue and rich teal couture gowns is undeniable and blue is becoming a hot color for wedding and bridesmaid dresses. The above teal georgette dress with embroidered broche application has a leather belt and unique draping for warm-weather bridesmaid style. From fully embroidered long-sleeve lace, to flowing caftans and deep V necklines – all of these incredible gowns are inspiring us, too!
We love these stone, gold and blue couture print gowns in crepe, organza and chiffon. Would these exquisite print dresses also make beautiful bridal gowns? We think so, for brides who can’t get enough of all the latest colored wedding dress trends.
The elegant grey dresses in Saab’s collection include crepe georgette styles with intricate embroidery, a high slit skirt with pretty peplum, and a fully embroidered caftan with front tulle panel. We like the idea of seeing some sheer lace wedding dress sleeves this color (with shimmery gold leaf-like embroidery accents like the wedding dress below) in addition to traditional white lace options.
Saab’s gold and grey jacquard wedding dress is a gorgeous finale and a wonderful example of how this haute couture collection would translate into bridal style. Again we see the signature metal belt (here in gold), with a beautifully embroidered veil and head piece.
