Be a Better Groom with The Man Registry

The Man Registry

It wasn’t long ago that wedding planning was thought of as solely a responsibility of the bride and her family. The groom was simply expected to show up to smile for photos and say “I do.” Fortunately those days are long gone. Today’s grooms are getting involved, and actually excited for, their role in the planning duties. Companies like The Man Registry are a big part of the transformation.

Back in 2007, Chris Easter, Jimmy Horner and Bobby Horner were frustrated. They had all been through the engagement and wedding planning process and had noticed very few resources for men. Sure, The Knot had a groom section on their site, but the articles were very clearly coming from a woman’s point of view. After some brainstorming, the three decided that a change was in order. And thus the concept of The Man Registry was born. The website, aimed exclusively at grooms, offers a wealth of information. Its offerings include:

A specialized wedding gift registry where couples can register for some of the more guy-friendly items they’ll need as a married couple. Top-selling items on the registry include power drills, camping tents and engraved barware.

A Groom 101 section that is comprised of articles and checklists aimed at educating guys on what to expect during their engagement. Popular topics include: tips on how to pop the question, suits vs. tuxes and how to plan an amazing honeymoon.

The Man Registry

A wedding party gift shop that offers thousands of unique ideas for the groomsmen. From the traditional flasks and pocket knives to more creative suggestions like mini bourbon barrels and custom signs, they’ve got it all. Additionally, tips on saving money and proper presentation to the wedding party are included.

Finally, the site’s local vendor guide services 42 cities in the US. In these cities, grooms can search for local tux shops, hotels, DJ’s and limo rental services.

My guy loves using our Zankyou wedding registry. Maybe because it’s high tech and gives him something to be in charge of. I get constant updates from him about which guest just purchased what, it’s adorable.
