One of the standout collections at New York International Bridal Week, the runway show for the Anne Barge Fall 2012 Bridal Collection was striking, dramatic and sexy. With form-hugging silhouettes and modern takes on traditional designs, this collection is for the confident and sophisticated bride.
The models at Anne Barge accessorized with floor-length veils, bold jewelry and sultry dark lipstick as they exhibited gown after elegant gown. Anne Barge’s signature design characteristic – modern interpretations of vintage styles – revealed itself in many shapes and forms. “This blending of contemporary and classic styles, with the use of the finest materials and intricate beading and embroidery, creates timeless silhouettes.”
This collection was extremely diverse. Puffy ball gowns with textured skirts and floral accents mingled with belted wedding dresses, one-shoulder gowns and halter-tops.
Like Marchesa and Monique Lhuillier, we’ve seen many designers creating wedding dresses with lace sleeves. Barge takes the trend in slightly different direction with lace gloves on strapless dresses for that extra touch of drama and glamour.
Barge showed a few wedding dresses in the season’s hottest color – nude. However, unlike the nude dress/white veil combinations shown at Badgley Mischka, Barge complimented her nude wedding dress with a matching nude veil for a much more polished look.

I like the nude tones in this collection. Most of the other nudes we have seen are more nude pink, while these dresses are nude beige, almost providing a gold glow!

I think that lipstick is too dark for bridal. But I guess, if you want a more dramatic look it works.
