An American Engagement in Paris: Photography by David Bacher

Since Zankyou is the leading wedding registry for international couples, we are always on the lookout for best ideas for couples going global. So imagine how excited we were to stumble upon American wedding photographer based in Paris, France: David Bacher!
Most couples dream of going to Paris for their wedding, honeymoon or romantic getaway. If you ever get the chance, David Bacher will be there to capture the love. David has worked in fashion, travel, and theater photography as well as specializing in wedding photography. He regularly photographs American couples in and around Paris for their engagements, weddings and honeymoons.
David recently had the privilege of working with New York City couple Bhavini and Anand, for their engagement photography session in Paris.
“In addition to the typical photos in Paris with the Eiffel Tower for example, the couple wanted to find a creative way of making a ‘save the date’ photo to send out as an invitation for their wedding next August in NYC. Anand actually came up with the idea of writing the date in chalk along the banks of the Seine. Then just before sunset I took several frames of the cute couple, back to back as the lights of passing cruise boats illuminated their faces.”

We love this creative and personal save the date idea. If you plan on having an engagement photo session, consider something similar for your save the date card. The chalk is a great idea but the possibilities are endless–you could hold signs to get your message across, form letters with stones or objects around you, draw lines in the sand or simply add text from a computer later.
