Trash the dress photo shoot

My wedding photographer asked me if I wanted a "trash the dress" session after my wedding. Why would anyone want to do that to their beautiful wedding dress?

You'd be surprised how many people are doing this after their wedding. The concept is all about celebrating the fact that you've found "the one" and won't ever need your dress again! You do have a couple of options if you're not prepared to ruin your dress though. You can either buy a second cheap dress, or wear your actual dress but only do things that won't actually ruin it, like beach shots or urban grit shots. That way the dress just needs a good clean to be as good as new again. I took part in a group Trash The Dress photo shoot earlier this year and the photos are spectacular! You can see a selection at www.sayso.com.au if you need inspiration!

I really like forests and the outdoors and I think it would be great to have a photo shoot in the woods wearing your wedding dress. It would be like a real life fairy tale. Even better if you were horseback riding!

How about doing a messy paint splash photo shoot? It would definite ruin ( or alter depending on how you see it ) your dress but would make for AMAZING photos.

Well, you don't necessarily need to "trash" or ruin the dress. It's just a photo shoot where you do things in your wedding dress that you wouldn't have dared to do before or on your wedding day. Maybe you jump into a pool or run around on the beach. You could put your dress on and play in the snow or go horseback riding. A "trash the dress" session is just a fun and new trend that photographers are adding to their wedding packages.

Unless you're planning on sealing the dress in the plastic, never to be worn again, I suggest going ahead with the session in a way that you are comfortable with and that suits your style to have a fun set of photos that you can treasure forever.

I think most couples go to the beach for trash the dress.

We did this for our anniversary. I put a lot of thought & creativty into it. I wanted the shoot to be fun & represent us. We love to camp & travel. check out the video I made with all the pictures & a mixture of some others

A good friend of mine did a "trash the dress" shooting and she loved it. Besides this the pictures are fantastic. I think I would not make such a shooting because I would not want to trash my dress.
